CareConnect App Redesign
CareConnect is a private network of trusted babysitters and caregivers in your area.

Challenge
For security reasons, CareConnect asks people to sign up for a free account before they can see babysitters in their area. Many users dropped off on the onboarding screen before they ever saw a potential sitter.
We wanted to raise the conversion rate of the onboarding flow. User interviews showed that first-time users didn’t continue because they weren’t confident they’d find a babysitter who met their needs.
Results
We tested my final design against the control version, and ran a Lyssna usability test with a varied group of users to validate the design and find areas to improve. The mean score rose from a baseline of 5.5 to 7.84.

Process
Research & Analysis: We ran user interviews and a Lyssna survey to learn how confident users felt about finding a babysitter in their area on the app, and why. We then synthesized the research into a few themes to drive the design.
Information Architecture: Based on the research, we restructured the app’s navigation and content around what users needed most. We also reviewed how competitors handled the same problems our research surfaced.
Wireframing & Prototyping: We started with napkin sketches to get ideas down quickly, then designed low-fidelity wireframes for the new layout and navigation and refined them with user feedback. After that, we built a high-fidelity interactive prototype to test.
Usability Testing: We ran a Lyssna usability test with a varied group of users to validate the design and find areas to improve. The mean score rose from 5.5 at baseline to 7.84.
Conclusion
After A/B testing the new onboarding flow, the mean score rose from 5.5 to 7.84 and the conversion rate rose 42.55%. More first-time users now feel confident enough to finish onboarding and see the sitters near them.
